DESCRIPTION:FCOA is organising an online talk by \nChristina Lamb \n Our Bodies\, Their Battlefield: War through the eyes of women \non Wednesday 26th May from 11.00 – 12.00 on ZOOM \n\nAcclaimed journalist Christina Lamb\, one of Britain’s leading foreign correspondents\, will deliver a heart-wrenching study of  the use of rape as a weapon of war. Interweaving the harrowing testimonies of contemporary women in war-torn regions such as the Democratic Republic of Congo. \nShe will give us an  essential\, groundbreaking examination of how women experience war. Speaking to survivors first-hand\, Lamb encounters the suffering and bravery of women in war and meets those fighting for justice. In Our Bodies\, Their Battlefield\, longtime intrepid war correspondent Christina Lamb makes us witness to the lives of women in wartime\,  she gives voice to the women caught up in conflicts\, exposing how in today’s warfare\, rape is used by armies\, terrorists and militias as a weapon to humiliate\, oppress and carry out ethnic cleansing. At the same time\, she uncovers incredible stories of heroism and resistance. \n  \nTickets are £5. \n  \n​​ \n
