The aims of the FCDOA include:

To stimulate informed discussion on issues that matter.
To keep abreast of the way the FCDO is changing and why.
To enable past and present FCDO staff to stay in touch in person.

With nearly 1600 members, it provides an online magazine; regular newsletters; virtual events; an annual reception; an annual lecture on topics of national and international interest; and a range of other activities and events. The Association’s office is located in London.

Governed by a board of directors under Edward Glover’s chairmanship and acting in accordance with its constitution and articles of association under the 2006 Companies Act, the FCDOA is a lively, independent organisation seeking to play an important part in the pursuit of matters of mutual interest in an ever changing world.
